Kia enters the 2018 – 2019 season at Momentum for her 6th year. In her 9 years of coaching and 12 years of playing, Kia brings energy, fun and passion for the game as well as experience playing at the club and college level and coaching highly competitive high school and middle school level teams. She is IMPACT and SafeSport certified.
Most recently, Kia coached her 12’s team to a second-place finish at RMR Showdown in the 14’s division, five Division 1 RMR power tournament wins, two bronze medal finishes at Colorado Crossroads National Qualifier and Show Me National Qualifier in the highest division, and finished in the Gold Bracket, tied for 5th, at the 2018 USAV Junior National Championships in Detroit, MI.
Kia is a firm believer in providing athletes the opportunity to succeed both on the court and in life by helping them develop a powerful work ethic, an understanding of the importance of teamwork, the power of confidence and the necessity of respect. Her top priorities are to provide a learning environment that is disciplined but fun, competitive yet fair, and challenging but supportive. She strives to be a positive role model and help players cultivate a love for the game that they will carry with them for a lifetime.
When not coaching, Kia can be found outside with her dog Finn. For fun she likes to go to the mountains, read, travel and play volleyball. She is also training as a yoga teacher and hopes to finally learn how to snowboard this winter.
