Kelsea enters the 2018 – 2019 season at Momentum for her 1st year. In her 4 years of coaching and 16 years of playing, Kelsea brings a passion for fundamentals, technical skill development and a creative approach to making sure volleyball is a place to work really hard together, but have a lot of fun doing it. She has coached a variety of ages and was the lead skills coach at her previous club.
Most recently, Kelsea has coached her 16s team to a successful season including a 3rd place at the Badger Region Championships – Open Division, 3rd place in Central Zone Invitational – Open Division, 1st place at the Juniors Challenge, and a bid to USAV Junior Nationals – American Division.
Kelsea is a firm believer that every athlete learns differently and it is her responsibility to get to know each player to know how to help them be as successful as possible. She believes in helping players develop their confidence, voice, leadership style, and meaningful role on the team. She aims to foster a positive learning environment where athletes can be competitive with each other but also be each other’s biggest supporters. She is enthusiastic about team building, communication, and technique. Her top priorities are giving each athlete a great club experience by individual player development, instilling valuable skills both on and off the court, and building a team culture of playing with heart and perseverance.
When not coaching, Kelsea can be found traveling, playing volleyball, and spending quality time with friends and family. While she is in the IT industry for work, she has a degree in fine arts and still enjoys drawing, pottery, and making hand-bound journals. She is originally from Wisconsin, but has called Denver home for the last 2 years.
