Eric enters the 2018 – 2019 season for his first year at Momentum. With 15 years of coaching and 21 years of playing experience, Eric brings a strong balance of enjoyment and disciple to his coaching, believes that teamwork can beat talent any day and keeps things as game like as possible at all times. He is Indoor and Beach IMPACT rated, as well a SafeSport and CAP II accredited coach.
Most recently, Eric coached his 16’s team to a top ten RMR finish in the 2017 season and the year before coached his 16-2’s team to a gold medal bracket finish in Spokane and finished as one of the top 2’s teams in the region. Prior to that Eric coached at every level of high school and club in Colorado and has several years as a coaching director and administrator.
Eric is a firm believer in cultivating smarter and stronger players and people. His top priorities are making sure volleyball is physically and mentally challenging yet still exciting and fun for all involved. He tends to ask a lot of questions and helps guide players towards discovering answers on their own. He believes the game teaches the game and all that is required to improve is a net, balls and constant feedback. He can’t remember a single record he has had as a coach or player and will constantly remind his teams that winning is the result of doing the right things rather than the goal.
When not coaching, Eric can be found at the golf course, in campgrounds or on trails. He is often flying somewhere to find a new place to do those things but loves CO too. He spends some time trying not to throw out his shoulder on the grass at Wash Park and in between all that manages to sneak in some civil engineering.
