Elsa LeGrand enters the 2018 – 2019 season at Momentum for her 8th year. In her 8 years of coaching and 17 years of playing, Elsa brings a passionate, fun, and competitive approach to the court. Elsa played at the University of Massachusetts Lowell as a middle blocker, and then continued her career professionally in Denmark for one season after graduating. She coached at Regis University as a Graduate Assistant from 2014-2016 where the team advanced to the NCAA tournament both seasons.
Most recently, Elsa has led her 15’s team to a 3rd place finish at the 2018 USAV Nationals in the 15 USA division. Her team earned their bid to Nationals at the Northern Lights Qualifier, also finishing 3rd place. The previous season, Elsa led her 15’s team to a championship title at the 2017 USAV Nationals in the 15 Patriot division with an undefeated record.
Elsa is a firm believer in empowering athletes to develop mental and physical skills to reach their personal and team goals both on and off the court. Her top priorities are fostering a strong work ethic, understanding the value of a team, and growing a passion for the game through individual and team experiences.
When not coaching, you can still find Elsa on a volleyball court. She competes competitively in sand doubles in the summer time, and still enjoys playing indoor with her other “has been” adult friends. She teaches 2nd grade in Aurora Public School District, and she also enjoys spending time in Winter Park with her family and snowboarding.
