AJ Nally enters his second full season at Momentum and his first season as Coaching Director and head coach of the 18-1s team with his wife, Meghan (Schoen) Nally. Most recently, he coached the Division I Men’s volleyball team at Grand Canyon University to a top 15 finish in the country. In addition to his work at Momentum, he owns and runs Four Athletes, a volleyball training app that gives players all over the world access to high level coaching concepts and feedback regardless of location or resources.
AJ comes to Momentum after spending 10 years at some of the highest levels of the game. Most recently, AJ Captained the USA Men’s National Team at the 2015 Pan American Games after spending five years playing professionally and two summers with Team USA. At Springfield College, AJ led the program to two national championships and was a two time All-American and the 2010 National Player of the Year.
AJ looks to bring his diverse experience to Denver to build a successful program and give the region access to the skills and concepts being taught at the highest levels of the game. Through fun and fast paced practices, lessons and clinics, AJ wants players and coaches to be efficient and thoughtful in their approach to the game. Working hard is important, but there needs to be balance between fun and intensity as well as sport and life.
When not coaching, AJ still plays in professional indoor and sand tournaments to stay active and involved in the game. When he’s suckered into it by Meghan, you may even see him playing some grass coed volleyball.
If AJ is not in the Momentum gym, he is avidly creating content for the Four Athletes’ volleyball app that gives elite level skills and coaching to anyone in the world.
