Alumni Kappas Named Skyline Women’s Volleyball Player Of The Week!

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Sept. 6, 2017) – The Skyline Conference announced its weekly award winners for women’s volleyball on Tuesday and USMMA sophomore Kyleigh Kappas (Parker, Colo.)was honored as the league’s Player of the Week after the opening week of the season. Kappas continues to rack in the weekly accolades throughout her short career thus far, as she was named a Rookie of the Week five times her freshman season in 2016 and landed on the Skyline Weekly Honor Roll once.

The sophomore setter dished out a total of 69 assists over the Mariners’ first two matches of the season last week – an exciting 3-2 road win at Rutgers-Newark on Friday and a 3-0 home sweep over Pratt on Monday. Her 8.62 assists per set were tops in the conference and she also picked up 20 digs (2.50 per set), three kills, three service aces and a block over the two victories.
